Functional Safety

CLIENT: Glencore – Collinsville Mine

Cell Engineering has a number of functional safety-certified engineers and was approached by the mine to complete a functional safety assessment of planned infrastructure expansions. The scope included references to AS 61508, 61511, and AS/NZS 4024 series.

The process included:

  • Develop a functional safety management Plan (FSMP)
  • Chair a functional safety risk assessment
  • Document requirements in a functional safety requirements specification.
  • Complete detailed designs for the agreed category 2 systems needed and identified from the RA.
  • Model the intended failure rates in the Sistema software.
  • Report on findings and recommendations.
