Earth Grid Design services delivered by Cell Engineering supported safe expansion of 66kV mining power systems at Glencore Hail Creek Mine.

Earth Grid Engineering Scope

Cell Engineering was engaged to complete Earth Grid Design activities associated with multiple 66kV mining infrastructure expansions operating across the Hail Creek Mine site. The project included soil resistivity testing, fault current analysis, earth grid modelling, split factor calculations, and assessment of anticipated step and touch voltage limitations associated with the proposed electrical infrastructure. Detailed engineering review activities were completed to support safe operation, electrical compliance, and long-term infrastructure reliability across the mining power systems environment.

Injection Testing and Electrical Safety

Earth Grid Design projects require detailed engineering assessment to ensure personnel safety and infrastructure protection during electrical fault conditions within mining and industrial environments.

Cell Engineering completed injection testing activities across each earth grid installation using internally developed off-frequency injection testing equipment located within Darwin and Mackay operations.

The injection testing process helped verify step and touch voltage performance, assess infrastructure safety outcomes, and support compliance-focused engineering reporting activities associated with the project.
