Battery Energy Storage Substation engineering delivered by Cell Engineering supported the development of a major 200MVA 275kV/33kV BESS infrastructure project for Energex.

BESS and Substation Engineering Scope

Cell Engineering was engaged to deliver detailed engineering design services associated with a large-scale Battery Energy Storage Substation project involving 275kV and 33kV infrastructure systems. The project included engineering design for a 300MVA 275kV/33kV incoming substation, 25 feeder panel switchboards and switchrooms, and 82 RMU kiosk substations integrated with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Detailed engineering deliverables included schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), termination drawings, loop control drawings, instrument drawings, specifications, and engineering data sheets supporting construction and operational requirements.

Power Systems and Protection Studies

The Battery Energy Storage Substation project also included detailed power systems engineering activities associated with protection studies, fault level analysis, load flow assessments, and protection settings verification.

Cell Engineering applied structured engineering methodologies to support infrastructure reliability, electrical safety, operational performance, and compliance with applicable engineering standards associated with high-voltage substation infrastructure.

Power systems engineering activities play a critical role in ensuring stable operation, fault management, and long-term reliability across large-scale Battery Energy Storage and utility infrastructure projects.

PLC, SCADA, and Industrial Automation

The project included PLC and SCADA engineering design activities associated with substation monitoring, operational control, industrial communications, and infrastructure integration requirements.
