Protection Studies
Client: BMA Peak Downs Mine
Arc Flash Risk Assessment services delivered by Cell Engineering supported electrical safety, protection coordination, and operational compliance across mining power systems at BMA Peak Downs Mine.
Arc Flash and Protection Engineering Scope
Cell Engineering was engaged to complete a site-wide Arc Flash Risk Assessment and protection coordination review associated with mining electrical infrastructure operating across the Peak Downs Mine site. The project included Arc Flash assessments, protection studies, coordination reviews, switchboard labelling, implementation of recommended protection settings, and updates to site electrical engineering documentation. Arc Flash labels displaying PPE requirements and hazard category ratings were developed and installed across switchboards throughout the site to improve electrical safety awareness and support compliance-focused operational practices.
Electrical Engineering and Mining Safety
Arc Flash Risk Assessment activities are essential for helping mining and industrial operations identify electrical hazards, improve personnel safety, and maintain compliance with recognised engineering standards and workplace safety requirements. Arc Flash Risk Assessment processes help mining operations improve electrical safety awareness, operational reliability, and compliance across high-energy power systems.
Cell Engineering provides electrical engineering, power systems, operational technology, PLC and SCADA Engineering, hazardous areas, and industrial compliance services across mining, infrastructure, industrial, and energy sectors throughout Australia.
By applying structured engineering methodologies and practical field expertise, our multidisciplinary engineering team supports safe operation, infrastructure reliability, and long-term system performance across complex industrial environments.
Protection Settings and Operational Compliance
The project also included implementation of recommended protection settings and completion of training activities to help site personnel understand Arc Flash risks, electrical safety procedures, and protection coordination outcomes associated with mining infrastructure.
Cell Engineering delivered a whole-of-service approach supporting the project from initial site audit activities through to engineering documentation updates, protection implementation, and operational training activities aligned with mining safety requirements.
Mining Power Systems Expertise
Mining operations rely on reliable protection systems and electrical infrastructure to maintain safe operation, operational continuity, and long-term asset performance.
Cell Engineering continues to deliver Arc Flash Risk Assessment services, protection studies, power systems engineering, operational technology, and industrial electrical engineering solutions across Australia’s mining and industrial sectors.
